Rain, rain, rain

In June 2013 the Association of British Insurers’ agreement with the Government to ensure the universal provision of flood insurance comes to end.

The impact of heavy rain over recent months should serve as a stark reminder that there is a distinct possibility that after June 2013 it may be difficult to obtain flood insurance. If the agreement with the Government is not extended, then many property owners will be unable to obtain insurance cover. It is therefore increasingly important that the level of flood risk is assessed when buying properties going forward.
