Phone-hacking claims: Hamlins appointed Lead Solicitor13th March 2016
Phone-hacking claims against News Group Newspapers Limited (NGN) will now be led by Hamlins, after Mr Justice Mann made an Order in the High Court that appoints Hamlins as Lead Solicitor for civil phone-hacking claims against News of the World and The Sun.
Hamlins’ phone-hacking lawyers will be in court again in April, leading an application by 16 claimants to seek to expressly include The Sun in phone-hacking claims against NGN going forward.
The High Court last week ordered further disclosure from NGN, relating to phone-hacking and potential surveillance of claimants, following a successful application brought by Hamlins on behalf of 16 phone-hacking claimants.
Phone-hacking claims against NGN, involving articles published in News of the World, are due to be heard at a trial in the High Court in June 2016.
