Job title: Team Leader in Lender Services

I joined Hamlins in 2009 and it was my first full time job after leaving sixth form. Hamlins is very supportive of personal development and encouraged me to progress in my role, first to Litigation Executive, and then they arranged for me to do an NVQ Level 3 in Management which contributed to me getting the Team Leader role.

As Team Leader I am the general point of contact for any queries within the team. I provide training and coaching both on an individual basis and as group seminars. I am responsible for monitoring the performance and standard of work within the team and delegating work throughout the department to ensure deadlines are met. I am encouraged to work with the senior managers to introduce new ideas to improve specific client performance statistics.

My role includes managing a caseload of around 300+ cases, corresponding with customers via telephone, email and letter to agree repayment arrangements and advising them of any restructure options. Monitoring the progress of a case and working through the repossession process.

What I like best is the variation of the role, the autonomy and the satisfaction of seeing an individual’s performance improve through training I have provided.

I have worked for Hamlins for over 5 years and I can honestly say that the people are lovely. I feel privileged to be able to call my colleagues friends and have thoroughly enjoyed working in such a friendly environment.
