I joined Hamlins in September 1993 (I think). Previously I’d had jobs at Reed Employment, Alfred Marks various others.
My role is to head up reception at Roxburghe House, greeting client and making them feel welcome, booking meeting rooms, arranging lunches, booking couriers and answering the switchboard.
I’ve worked at Hamlins for over 20 years and I still really enjoy my job. I like the fact that my days are never the same, some events require the whole team to work together to achieve a seamless professional and friendly face for the company. I like the relationship we have with our clients and colleagues. I’d like to say that reception is where everything happens…. whether it’s making endless pots of tea and coffee, being on the front line for meeting and greeting clients and couriers or just saying hello to staff as they pass through. Hamlins also has so many long-standing clients and it’s nice for them (and me) to recognise a familiar face and I enjoy being able to deliver them with a personal service because I know them so well. It’s not only the friendly staff at Hamlins that make my job so enjoyable it is also our lovely clients.
