Hamlins moves up rankings in The Legal 500 201614th September 2016
Hamlins has moved up the rankings in the latest edition of The Legal 500 (2016 edition), one of the two leading directories of legal services. 14 of our practice areas were ranked and 15 of our lawyers were recommended. The firm also saw a new entry for professional negligence and a move up in the rankings for reputation management, sport, commercial litigation, commercial property and hotels and leisure.
The Firm’s Corporate and Commercial Team were recognised both for their small and mid-cap flotations and M & A deals up to £50 million. Corporate Head Daniel Bellau was described as ‘knowledgeable, commercial and gets the deal done’.
Within Dispute Resolution the Firm was ranked highly again in reputation management. Chris Hutchings was recognised as having ‘considerable expertise in this area, which was underscored by his leading role in litigation against News Group Newspapers’, whilst Andrew Stephenson was quoted as having ‘immense experience.’
The Firm was recommended in the TMT section for its work in brand management, media and entertainment, and sport. Laurence Gilmore once again received the highest accolade of ‘leading individual’, whilst Philip Herbert, Matthew Pryke, Julian Ward, Chris Hutchings and Mark Gay were all recommended for their work.
The Commercial Property Team was lauded for its ‘proactive advice’ with particular recognition given to its retail and hotel and leisure sector expertise. Several of the Commercial Property Team were recommended including Mark Hurst, Paul Spacey, and the ‘vastly experienced’ Nigel Mason.
The Property Finance Team was ranked with recommendations for Charles Bezzant, Joe Holder and Aselle Djumabaeva-Wood. The ‘approachable’ Charles Bezzant was noted for being ‘particularly experienced in financing investment and development ‘ and Aselle Djumabaeva-Wood was commended for her ‘impressive grasp of legal detail’.
Within the ‘really impressive’ property litigation practice, Kate Andrews was described as a ‘key player’ and Faiza Ahmad as someone who ‘always has your back’.
