Hamlins move up to tier 2 in Media Law International29th April 2016
The Hamlins’ Media Team has moved up to tier 2 in the Media Law International guide, a comprehensive publication profiling the best media law firms and practitioners across the world.
Hamlins is recognised in the guide for its expertise in film, television and digital media, and for handling complex litigation. The guide also notes the expansion of the media practice with the hire of Andrew Stephenson who joined from Carter-Ruck bringing ‘exceptional expertise in the area of defamation’. Laurence Gilmore, who is head of the media department, is described as specialising in all areas of music litigation.
Hamlins is also ranked highly for its media expertise in the Legal 500, and Chambers and Partners guides of leading legal professionals. In the 2016 edition of Legal 500 Laurence Gilmore received the highest accolade of ‘leading lawyer’ for his advice in music litigation whilst Chris Hutchings is described as a ‘great diplomat’ and Andrew Stephenson as a ‘top- class litigator’.
