Hamlins’ Partner discusses the implications for WADA and IOC over Fancy Bears leaks

Hamlins’ Sport and IT Partner, Matthew Pryke was quoted in a recent article in Sportcal on the implications for WADA and the IOC over the hacking of the WADA database by Fancy Bears, the Russia-based cyber-hacking team.

Matthew told Sportcal that in addition to WADA, the International Olympic Committee could also be in the firing line, given that the breach originated from an IOC-created account for the Olympics.

Matthew was quoted as saying:

“Given the profile and calibre of the athletes whose information has been disclosed…damages could be significant. Clearly this disclosure is negative for the athletes. Whether it ultimately leads to loss of commercial revenue…time will tell.”
